The next day the witness found trampled vegetation, a coyote carcass, tarp pieces, a dog dish, and scat near the estimated sound source.

No full animal was clearly seen.

During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.
