Boar hunters find fresh footprints north of Lake Cachuma
Two hunters on a hillside noticed movement below them and went downhill to investigate but found nothing. About 5-10 minutes later after climbing back to the trail they found large deep footprints overlying their own earlier footprints. They followed the prints for about a mile to a vantage point where the trail ahead was empty, then gave up and returned.

The witness and a companion were staying at a closed lakeside resort in winter to ski on the snow-covered beach. Shortly after setting out in the afternoon they found two sets of very large footprints in the snow running along the bay. They followed the tracks and found body-sized impressions where the makers appeared to have lain and moved limbs in the snow, then found a partly eaten fish near a dock. As dusk approached they left the area and saw nothing further that night.

While deer hunting with three family members near Whatum Lake, the witness found and followed a trackway of huge human-like footprints. Near where the tracks crossed a road the group found berry-filled scat, and later found another set of similar tracks in an old burn area. No creature was seen; the group concluded the tracks were from bigfoot.

The witness was elk hunting on horseback in the Idaho wilderness with a companion when their horses became unmanageable near a ridgetop. They discovered very large fresh human-like footprints in snow that did not look like bear tracks. After moving away, they learned that two hunters camped in the next valley had abandoned camp after reporting a screaming animal throwing logs and destroying their camp.

The witness was sleeping at a sandy riverside camp when dogs barked then became frightened and quiet. With eyes kept shut, the witness heard something walking in the water, noticed a strong urine-like odor, and felt something brush their hair during an encounter lasting several minutes. At daybreak, very large foot-like indentations were found in dry and wet sand around the sleeping area, campfire and tent.

The witness and a companion camped overnight in a tent in scrub pine after returning from a motorcycle rally. Late at night something approached the tent, producing a strong odor, audible movement, breathing and ground vibration, and a loud scream that continued intermittently before leaving. At daylight the witness found large indistinct impressions in grass and broken ferns leading toward a cliff but no clear tracks.

The witness and a companion were backpacking to fish when they missed a trail marker and camped overnight on a bluff below a canyon rim. The witness reported feeling watched overnight. The next morning the companion found a single large five-toed footprint in wet sand near a spring about 80 feet from camp, which both examined. Noting rain the prior morning had left drop patterns everywhere except the print, and smelling a musty odor, they left the area.

The witness was snowmobiling through a remote marshy area in February when they came upon a trail of barefoot human-like prints in deep crusted snow. They stopped to examine the trail and concluded the prints were not from a bear, snowshoes, or anything familiar. While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.

The witness, then a child, was hunting with the witness's father and a companion along a river when a very loud single scream lasting several seconds stopped the group and frightened them. The older hunters reportedly had never heard a similar animal sound. As the group left the area, the companion reported movement in nearby trees and large footprints in the river sand.

During one late-night episode, one person looking out from a shelter saw a large shape briefly enter moonlight and then leave. The witness and a relative followed large human-like tracks in mud from the edge of a soybean field through a forest into a clearing. The clearing contained many dog prints in a circle and blood on the ground. The tracks then continued into a bog.

They followed the tracks about 50 yards to a dirty depression where something large appeared to have been lying, then saw the tracks continue downhill. A family living in a thinly populated brushy area reported encountering three hairy upright creatures in their yard at night while calling for a pet dog. An animal initially mistaken for the dog stood up and walked away to join two larger individuals, and all three left into the brush. The account was relayed to night-shift deputies by the head of the household, who described the group as differing in size.

On March 9, 1969, a group visiting a vacation property on Bear Creek found very large footprint-like depressions in deep snow. The tracks appeared to come from the campsite area and angle off toward the creek into trees, with a stride a tall adult could not match. The group left without further investigation, and the witness later notified the county sheriff, whose follow-up found additional tracks and produced casts.
