The witness backpacked solo to a remote campsite and spent the night in a hammock. Throughout the night he heard knocks, screams, howls, voices, footsteps, rocks and twigs landing nearby, and felt his tarp, hammock lines and gear being touched. He also noted a bent-tree structure near camp the prior evening and disturbed logs and tree piles in the morning, but reported seeing no creature.

On the morning of 2 Nov 2010 the witness, a companion, and an investigator were in heavily wooded preserve land by a cemetery looking at tree structures when sirens sounded. They distinguished a different howl-like sound about 200 to 300 yards to the north, heard three times in total. The sound was captured on audio and a segment was later isolated. No creature was seen.

They later found uprooted small trees, additional tracks in camp, hair on fencing, and a woody debris structure, and heard screaming and a howl that prompted a relative to leave camp.

In July 1979 the witness reports hearing very loud howling and screaming approaching through dense woods behind the house on three consecutive nights. Each episode involved repeated 20-30 second vocalizations with loud crashing through brush, while other night sounds stopped. On the third night the witness turned on roof floodlights when the source was behind the house; the sound stopped briefly then crashed away quickly in the opposite direction. The witness did not see the source and reports hearing nothing similar after 1979.
