Bowhunter finds twisted trees, tracks, scat, & unusual sounds
The witness was bow-hunting in coastal second-growth forest on the morning of 9/1/01. He heard whooping and scream-like vocalizations followed by a large tree falling, plus heavy footsteps, and later found large ground impressions, broken limbs and tops, and animal hair high on a tree. An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

The witness was hunting elk along a ridge trail and noting elk, coyote, cougar and deer sign. About a mile from a spur road, just off the trail behind a small tree, the witness found an unusually large dark tubular scat that did not match known animals. The witness examined its size, color and contents with a stick and suggested it could possibly have come from a large primate-like animal.

The witness went into dense woods on their property early in the morning before sunrise. From under fifty feet away and out of sight, they heard a loud knocking like a large rock striking a tree. They searched for the source but found nothing and felt frightened despite being armed.
Witnesses heard what they described as a "roaring scream"
Two people fishing from a dock in the evening heard a powerful roaring scream from the west along the lake. About half a minute later a fisherman came running from the direction of the sound, appearing panicked. The two joined him and all three ran together back to the nearby campground, where he said something had been right next to him. They then broke camp and drove home.

Three college roommates hiked to the Thompson River to fish and camp overnight. After dark they repeatedly heard a childlike crying sound from a nearby ridge, had small river stones tossed into camp, and later heard loud knocks alternating with the cries. At daylight they hiked out, noticing concentrated scat and disturbed ground near oak trees, and concluded the activity was not from a person.

The witness and relatives stopped at a meadow while fishing and scouting for elk sign. The witness found three large fresh scats of unrecognized plant-based material and a large humanlike footprint beside one scat. The cousin and two teenagers also viewed the track, photos were taken and the scats were collected for later examination.

The witness and a relative were waiting in dense brush while bugling for elk when they heard approaching knocking, rustling and vocal sounds and noticed a strong unpleasant odor. They left the hiding spot as crashing sounds followed them uphill. Other members of the hunting party later said they had seen a figure walking on the hill where the pair had not been. The group later returned to the site and found unusual scat.

The witness was archery hunting from a ground blind near a hog wallow when he heard close grunting and breathing that he could not see. After the sounds stopped he inspected the area and found very large scat and large deep tracks leading to and away from the scat. He first assumed hogs and then a very large bear made the sign, but later judged the scat too large for a Florida black bear.
Deer hunters find footprints near Wahtum Lake
While deer hunting with three family members near Whatum Lake, the witness found and followed a trackway of huge human-like footprints. Near where the tracks crossed a road the group found berry-filled scat, and later found another set of similar tracks in an old burn area. No creature was seen; the group concluded the tracks were from bigfoot.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

While hunting near a lake in the fall of 1970, the witness reported a strong musky odor, unusual large and small scat, rhythmic thumping with ground vibration, and a large dead tree falling nearby while alone. The next day the witness returned with a companion, encountered the thumping and shaking again, and a large rock flew over their heads, after which they left the area.
Hikers find large footprint and unidentified droppings
Two people walking a dog on a trail noticed multiple large human-shaped droppings along the uphill side and discussed them as possible territorial marking. After turning back when a deer startled them, they found a single deep, clear footprint partly hidden by branches and photographed it with a shoe and water bottle for scale. They searched briefly for a natural cause for the impression but left quickly because the companion and dog were agitated.
Man has interesting experiences outside of La Porte
During extended thesis fieldwork in remote mountain country, the witness found a set of human-like footprints in fine silt on a meander of Upper Slate Creek, noting dermal ridges, five even-length toes, a square shape and no instep, with a 20-inch stride noted in follow-up. Three pieces of mottled brown feces with a faint odor were found with the prints. No creature was seen and no other person was present for this find.
Missing Cattle and large footprints found
Two brothers operating a cattle ranch reported losing 300-400 lb calves without trace each May through early July over three to four years, and noted cattle panicking at their approach from a distance. In the third year they found a freshly killed calf with its neck broken, no teeth or claw marks, and a deep parallel-sided bruise, which a vet and others examined. Three sets of large footprints and unknown feces containing smashed bone were also reported.
