The witness and six companions were climbing Mt. St. Helens in the morning when they heard a single loud scream from a snow-covered ridge about 100 yards away. They stopped and looked toward the ridge with excellent visibility but saw no movement. They judged the sound unlike a human, elk, coyote, or dog, and the witness later concluded it was Bigfoot after comparing it to a 1978 recording.

On March 9, 1969, a group visiting a vacation property on Bear Creek found very large footprint-like depressions in deep snow. The tracks appeared to come from the campsite area and angle off toward the creek into trees, with a stride a tall adult could not match.
