The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.

The witness stood on a back step calling for a dog and looked over a tall kennel. A large hairy creature with reddish-brown hair was partly visible behind the kennel, showing part of its head and a long arm. The witness estimated it was about 7 feet tall because it stood taller than the kennel, then heard landing thumps and ran back inside.

The witness was walking alone on trails at the preserve in the afternoon and heard a twig snap followed by two gorilla-like grunts near a loop trail. The witness walked back to the main trail without running and found only their spouse waiting.
