Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

The witness and a companion hiked several miles into the La Sal Mountains to camp and hunt deer. During daytime glassing a large aspen snapped and fell near them on a calm day. That night around 2 a.m. a loud multi-pitched scream sounded from a hillside for about two hours while something circled their tent close enough to hear breathing. They found no tracks in the morning and later moved camp.

After hearing heavy breathing and movement, the witness observed a large black hairy human-like figure first on all fours then sitting and standing. While the witness fled toward a truck, movement paralleled the witness in the woods while vocalizations continued behind, suggesting a second individual, and the witness fired a shot in the air before driving away.

Four campers spending the night near a creek reported hearing aggressive vocalizations described as a mix of whoops and screams, then seeing the silhouette of a very tall figure with a wide torso about fifteen feet away. They retreated to their truck before setting up camp, and later that night heard a deep whistle, crunching footsteps, pebbles hitting tents, and a branch breaking, along with a foul odor while a small dog growled. By morning a chair was found knocked over, but no tracks were located on the rocky ground.

The largest figure charged uphill while vocalizing, then moved toward them breaking branches before everything went silent while the two smaller figures watched from the treeline. Around midnight the large figure re-emerged, stepped over a log and walked downhill bipedally with the other two following.

The first night included talk-like and giggling sounds followed by an hour of limbs breaking all around them. No blood was found, only partial tracks, and a conservation officer told them to keep quiet.

They did not see anything, kept lights off out of fear, and then heard what sounded like several large creatures retreating to the tree line. The next day they found pushed-over bushes and freshly broken branches.

They walked toward a beaten crossing area and heard very close low guttural sounds, then backed out together. The witness also describes finding a detailed multi-size trackway in sand and hearing monkey-like chatter and a scream-like holler that night.

Two companions camped while hunting for five days near Dillon State Park. On successive nights they heard tree knocks from multiple directions, whistles, whoops, loud yells and screams that approached the camp, growling near the camper, and banging on vehicles in a nearby junkyard. On two November 2015 mornings the witness sat in a remote hunting spot before sunrise and heard close-range tree breaks and knocks followed by a scream/whoop vocalization shortly after turning off a light. Conditions were clear, cold and very quiet on both occasions. The witness, an experienced outdoors person, said nothing like it had happened before or since.
