Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.
Young man has several possible day-time encounters near Moses Mountain in the '70s
In July 1977 the witness was helping a relative fix fence on a hill behind the ranch around noon. He and the relative saw two tall pine trees sway inside the fence line and then heard a loud yelling uhhing sound. Years later after watching television programs, the witness concluded the sounds were likely made by a bigfoot.

A family group of six was inside a large tent at night during a thunderstorm when they smelled an overpowering odor and heard loud screaming approach. A large hairy figure stood over the tent, visible in lightning flashes, screaming for several minutes while the occupants huddled in fear. An adult companion left the tent, apparently confronted the creature amid scuffling and growling, then returned pale and blocked the zipper until dawn when the group left.

The witness was walking alone on a spring morning near Scenic, Washington when an extremely loud sound was heard three times from about half a block away near old railroad bunkhouses. The sound was described as starting like a roar and rising to a shrill pitch, repeated with short pauses. The witness did not see the source and could not identify it as any known local animal.

The main witness went alone on a spring-break morning to check plants grown in woods behind the family home. After hearing footsteps behind him he hid in a bush and watched a tall brown hair-covered female figure walk by, sniff the air, then run out of sight within seconds. He fled home and told his stepfather, who warned the family to stay out of that area.
Sasquatch sighting in California (1970)
The witness and a companion backpacked about a mile from a logging road to the Patterson-Gimlin film site at Bluff Creek during spring break. After days of silence, they camped near a sandbar and at night a heavy animal approached; the witness shone a light and saw red eyes about eight feet up, then the creature circled out of sight for about 45 minutes and threw a face-sized rock toward them. The next morning they found large depressions, then hiked out along the creek feeling followed, later hearing a loud crash and a low gurgling whistle near the logging-road spur.

After crossing the creek the woods went silent, they heard something running, had rocks thrown at them, and caught glimpses of a hairy upright creature. Broken tops on small trees were also noted.

Four people sleeping halfway up the same mountain in the seventies heard an unexplainable howl at about one in the morning. They were terrified and left quickly, later declining an interview.

Three Sisters Wilderness, North Mathieu Lake - Man camping alone hears footsteps
The witness was camping alone in a tent on the northeast corner of North Mathieu Lake. Around 4 a.m. he awoke to loud bipedal footsteps circling his tent, with a tent guy rope briefly touched, and his shouts got no answer until blowing a whistle caused the sounds to retreat to the north. In morning light he found a very large deep toed footprint near his tent plus several fainter prints nearby, and he cut his trip short.
Hunters frightened by creature pacing them int he woods
Two relatives hiked to a remote lake to fish and camped overnight. After dark they heard something moving in nearby brush and, frightened, packed up to leave. The unknown presence appeared to follow them in the dark all the way back to their car, stopping and resuming in sync with their own movements.
