Four people sleeping outdoors beside a river were awakened around 2 a.m. by loud screaming from across the river. The source paced the far bank, crossed the river, snapped a fallen log, approached within 10 feet while screaming and giving off a strong odor, then recrossed the river and left up the hill over about 25 minutes. Nothing was seen because it was pitch dark.

The guest saw a tall bulky black figure with a conical head and long arms standing at the tree line watching them. Two teenagers stopped for a few minutes by a small lake or beaver pond while riding dirt bikes on an overgrown logging road. A loud scream lasting up to 15 seconds and varying in pitch came from an opposite ridge about a mile away. As a 12-year-old, the witness slipped into his squirrel hunting and fishing spot in bottomland after noticing disturbed traps, knocks, odors and large three-toed tracks. At a fallen oak over a creek, he came face to face at very close range with a tall hairy male-like figure standing in water that screamed, clicked its teeth and splashed water in his face. He fled through brush and fence to his house, and his father later saw the scattered tackle and tracks.

Around 2 a.m. under bright moonlight the witness and his tent-mate watched a massive broad-shouldered human-shaped shadow cast on the tent for several minutes that withdrew silently. Later they heard hollow knocking in sets of five for about twenty minutes from near a wooden platform. Their father denied making the knocks.

Four teenage boys spotlighting deer at a rural intersection saw glowing eyes, then heard heavy crashing footsteps. A large figure crossed the narrow road in three steps and later partially appeared beside a tree showing torso, arm, leg and part of head. The driver fired two shots from a small pistol and they fled to a service station, returning next day to find only wallowed ground.

A few weeks after first smelling a foul odor, the witness and his cousin were in bed when sensor lights came on. He crawled to a large window and saw a huge hairy figure in the driveway that screamed and flexed after apparently seeing its reflection. They watched it walk past the house, bite a wild watermelon, drink from a man-made lake by cupping its hands, and enter the swamp while screaming. It left eighteen-inch tracks that were later destroyed before casting.

He rode with relatives behind a deputy sheriff who struck a large creature with his car. The creature got up and hammer-punched the patrol car with both hands, lifting the rear off the ground. Later the group found a prize bull bleeding out with no head, its head 100 yards away across the pasture.

In the dark he saw a tall indistinct form walk about 15 to 20 meters before disappearing, and noticed a strong bad smell. Frightened for himself and his companion, he urged her to hurry, suggested it was a bear, and they left the area.
