Kayakers describe rock throwing near island on Keystone Lake
Three people camped on an island area at Keystone Lake and heard repeated grunting and howl-like vocalizations after midnight. After two people kayaked back to the cars and two returned, the two in kayaks had two very large rocks land in the water near them as they approached shore in darkness. One had earlier seen green eyeshine near the campsite on the first return. Finding no other people on the island, they packed up and left during the night.

Late at night the son was awake in his bedroom when he heard scraping at his window, followed by sniffing-like breathing and a loud grunt. The dogs penned by the window did not bark. He left the bedroom for the couch and was afraid to sleep there for several nights.

The witness walked a ridge into the wind and surprised a large hairy creature bedded 8-10 feet away. The creature emitted a loud whoop and force that froze the witness, then slid rapidly down the rocky ridge using trees, stood, bared its teeth, and left silently. The witness fled cross-country to a road and later returned to the house where the grandfather had fired signal shots.

The witness and a companion stopped while hiking and watched a reddish primate-like figure peeking from behind trees and brush about 100 feet away. The figure watched them for several minutes, moved away, then reappeared to peek briefly several more times over about 15 minutes. Rocks were thrown into camp, and at night something bipedal walked around and brushed the tent while making sniffing sounds at the seams. The activity continued over several days with more distant knocks that seemed to approach, another large rock landing near the witness, and an ice chest found opened.

The witness then saw two tall white hair-covered creatures about 25 yards away that crossed the trail and hid with faces covered. Two campers were in their tent at a campground late at night when they heard a strange hollow two-pitched sound repeated several times. One heard it twice and the other heard it four times, and they disagreed about the direction it came from. Their dog acted nervous during the sounds and then settled. They saw nothing and reported hearing nothing else.

The witness was walking with a dog on a dirt road in the early evening when the dog became agitated and aggressive. The witness heard grunting and movement in nearby woods, then saw a large hair-covered biped rise from behind a fallen tree and retreat into the woods. The dog chased the creature while the witness ran home, and the dog returned later unharmed. A strong road-kill-like odor was noted around the time of the sighting.

The witness family was bank fishing after dark while their daughter imitated owls. An owl flew closely past them, immediately followed by an extremely loud, chest-vibrating roar from nearby cover that lasted several seconds. Frogs and insects went silent for a time, then slowly resumed, and the family left shortly afterward.

On the third night of an expedition, the witness waited alone in an elevated platform near a creek during a broadcast stakeout. Starting around 11:30 PM, he heard slow heavy footsteps pacing back and forth nearby for about two hours without ever seeing the source. After radio contact with the approaching team, he heard a loud plopping sound followed by rapid bipedal splashes moving up the rocky creek bed. A later daylight check found a boulder-covered creek with no tracks.

The couple was outside their house late at night calling for their pet cat when loud hoot-like calls started nearby and multiplied into many very loud varied screams and laughing-like sounds that built to a crescendo then stopped abruptly. After a period of silence with rustling and a loud snap, they got into their car to leave. While driving away they saw a large dark upright figure with glowing yellowish-orange eyes near the road and noticed a strong musk odor.

The witness was helping clear land on a forested property when they left companions during a lunch break to explore a ravine and entered a cave containing a large nest of fabric and vegetation. After exiting the cave and moving a short distance away, they heard a huff and saw the head and upper body of a hair-covered creature watching from rocks above the cave. The witness fled uphill to rejoin the companions.

Three companions were camping overnight for gigging and lying in a large tent trying to sleep when prolonged loud screams were heard from across a creek for about 30 minutes. They described the screams as deep-throated, lasting several seconds each, and coming from a large animal, but they stayed in the tent and saw nothing.
