Near midnight the witness awoke to loud, fast footsteps that stopped upon reaching the truck, then quiet sneaking footsteps circling the vehicle and faint breathing close behind him. He stayed still with fear and never saw the source before it waited on the road and then left loudly down the road out of sight.

At late dusk while camped at a lake shore over Labor Day weekend, the witness reports hearing a single very loud whoop lasting 8 to 11 seconds from about a half-mile uphill. The witness also notes open-range cows stayed unusually close to shore and camp instead of wandering. The witness speculates something may have moved the cows down out of the timber.
