Knocks heard in the Ocala National Forest

The witness and a companion drove to a prior sighting location in the afternoon to investigate. Shortly after exiting the vehicle they heard a loud whack followed by rhythmic knocking sounds. The witness walked into the surrounding woods while maintaining radio contact and heard loud bipedal-sounding footsteps ahead that continued for several minutes. When the witness returned, the companion said the knocks had stopped at the same time, and no tracks were found.

The witness and a companion were hiking out from an overnight camp when they heard rhythmic tapping like stones striking together from two separate spots in the trees. They considered the alternating sequences might be communication or a distress signal. After the companion struck rocks together four times, they heard seven quick taps in reply followed by silence, then they left the area.

The witness was hiking alone near a small pond in the afternoon and stopped for lunch when a loud, sing-song-like vocalization was heard from about 300 yards away. The sound lasted about two minutes with changing pitch and seemed like a single creature talking to itself. The witness left quickly and later revisits found nothing unusual.

The witness and a companion beached their boat to gather pinecones when they heard a loud snap nearby. After the witness made a bird call, something unseen in the woods struck a tree three times loudly. They retreated to the boat, the witness called again, and an unseen source shook a tree violently until it broke and fell, prompting them to leave.

Family hears whoops on Lone Pine Road

The witness was out scouting with two relatives, driving west and stopped at a memorial sign to stretch. They heard three loud whoops from about a quarter-mile east, near a spot they had driven past minutes earlier. The witness imitated the sound, then listened with the engine off for several minutes, heard nothing more, and left.

The witness was waiting in a field to turkey hunt around dawn when he heard two distant, high-pitched calls from near the river a few seconds apart. He described the sounds as like a child's yell and unlike any animal he knew, and he heard no answering deeper call. No visual, odor, or tracks were noted with this vocalization event.

The witness and daughter exited the back of the house after a rainstorm and noticed a foul odor like rotten eggs and garbage. The witness then heard a deep growl and saw a tall hair-covered figure about 25 feet away step from behind a pecan tree into plain view. They observed each other for about two minutes before the figure turned and ran.

Witness finds tracks - hears sounds - smells odors - finds deer carcass - then has large rock thrown at him.

The witness found a foul-smelling bedding area thought at first to be from deer or other game and then found large slide-like tracks leading to and from the site. After following the tracks, the witness smelled the same odor again and heard an unfamiliar grunting or growling sound before it went quiet and the scent faded. The witness also noted deep impressions and small broken tree limbs about six and a half to seven feet high before leaving the area.

Very loud bipedal footsteps heard early in the morning outside a home

The witness woke around 7 a.m. to dogs barking and heard extremely loud, slow bipedal footsteps coming down a hill to the house. From the bedroom window the witness saw only huge legs passing by, with no torso or arms visible, then heard the steps continue past the house to the woods on the other side. The witness stayed still out of fear and did not look out other windows.

BC family sees a possible family group of sasquatch

The witness was on a family drive for hiking near Ashnola when the group heard loud screaming and howling from the forest that the son compared to alleged sasquatch sounds heard online. A car horn blast stopped the sounds. The group then drove about a quarter mile and the witness stopped to examine old large footprints in snow in the middle of the road.

He also recalled an owl-like call with an odd reply and a low humming vibration that only some people could hear and feel.

A friend stayed at the same mountain cabin through several summers. Whenever alone there, he heard the same two figures howling back and forth from opposite ends of the ridge from sunset to about midnight. He described the sound as louder than a bull bellow with huge lungs.

While driving with his brother on Bright Bush Road, the witness saw a light-brown shaggy biped hunched over eating a dead rabbit by the road. From about twenty feet away it stood over ten feet tall, took two steps across the road and went up a bank. It gave off a rotten skunk-like stench and made a grunting scream that sent the brother running back to the truck.

The witness was indoors playing video games when a loud scream described as sounding like something dying was heard from outside. The witness's dog had run toward the source before the scream and ran back to the house very quickly afterward. A neighbor came to check the area with a gun but found nothing. The witness reported being deeply disturbed and unable to sleep.

The guest described taking three companions, two of them skeptics, to a forested road near a creek bottom for nighttime field research in 2006. After he struck a tree with a bat, the group heard overlapping moaning howls from opposite sides, heavy marching sounds, a returned knock, a rock landing in the road, a whoop, and finally a very loud close scream that terrified the group. The party retreated to the vehicle to listen and later left the area, with the guest noting a distinctive tree to check for tracks the next day.

Three people were camping overnight in a tent on private woodland. During the night one person left the tent with indigestion and rekindled the campfire while the others remained inside. All three then heard a loud high-pitched yelp from the woods immediately around the campsite, prompting the person outside to rush back into the tent. The group stayed quiet and heard nothing further.

Possible encounter while backpacking in the Hoosier National Forest

Three people were camped overnight in a valley when they heard a deep growl followed by a howl. They then heard large branches or trees snapping and being thrown toward camp, followed by sounds of a small animal in distress and then silence. Finally they heard something large running away through the woods, breaking branches and rustling leaves. They saw nothing in the darkness and could not identify the source.

After dark the witness went down to a lake dock to remove a battery charger from a bass boat and shined a spotlight across the cove. He noticed a tall dark figure in 6 to 7 foot grass, whistled at it and heard a different whistle returned. When he looked back the figure was moving away through the weeds, and he ran back to the house.

The witness was hunting from a tree stand in the late afternoon when he heard very loud, unfamiliar yells from about 150-200 yards away. The yells repeated minutes later from apparently closer. He then watched a small sapling whip violently side to side for about a minute while surrounding grasses did not move similarly. Feeling uneasy as darkness approached, he climbed down and left the woods without ever seeing the source.

Two campers on a sandbar heard a loud scream, heavy bipedal footsteps and splashes in the creek after dark. When they left the tent with flashlights they saw large green eyes without visible pupils a short distance away on their path. After verbal warnings shots were fired toward the eyes, which advanced a few steps instead of fleeing, prompting the pair to call for help to leave the woods.
