Rocks were thrown toward two of them from the woods, strange pacing, a low growl, and rhythmic booming sounds followed them. Similar rock-like impacts on the cabin were heard after dark on Friday and Saturday nights, and a companion later heard loud rustling and a loud tree-strike sound behind the cabin Sunday morning.

After a loud bang on a nearby wooden outhouse, a witness saw a tall dark hairy figure run into the woods. A responding ranger searched the woods, found no one and no damage, and noted the family were the only campers in that section.
