A deer hunter sat in a tree stand on a crisp clear morning while noticing a strong foul odor. While walking back along an old logging trail around 10 a.m., the hunter saw a very large upright hairy animal step onto the trail, pause and look, then calmly walk away bipedally. The hunter ran the opposite direction, dropping gear, and later returned to find no tracks but noted a freshly broken branch.

In the evening the witness walked east of camp, noticed a strong foul smell and heard vegetation breaking nearby before running back to the group. Overnight the campers were awakened by sounds around the camp followed by a loud crash, and by morning the food hung high above ground was gone, the supporting limb was damaged, and a foul smell lingered. The group then packed and left the area.

While working as night watchmen at a logging site, the female witness walked back from checking equipment at dusk and heard a snorkeling sound by the creek. She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. Two people became locked behind gates on dirt access roads and had to spend the night in their car. After dark they repeatedly heard loud wood-on-wood knocking sounds very close each time they stopped the car. They moved the car several times to different roads, but the knocking resumed shortly after each stop and continued until sunrise. After sunrise they noticed a bark wound high on a tree near the car.

During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

While hunting deer alone in the morning, the witness heard repeated sounds like logs or poles being thrown, then found a tree with bark removed, a large packed bed, a human-like track, and unfamiliar scat. After glimpsing brown fur duck behind a log, the witness heard an extremely loud low roar-like yell from behind with crashing, then heard crashing and throwing sounds staying out of sight while leaving for about 200 yards. No full animal was clearly seen.

During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.

The witness found a large human-like footprint on a muddy curve and returned with a camera and casting supplies to document it. While making the cast, nearby bushes rustled violently and the top of a small tree snapped off and fell near the road, followed by several whinny-like vocalizations from the woods. Days later the witness believed an outline of a figure appeared in one photo and reported being followed on later visits to check for more prints.

The witness and his wife sat on his truck tailgate at a power-line clearing late at night when they heard snorting, brush breaking, and a loud growl/grunt moving up a steep hill toward them. The witness saw a large shadow moving on the slope in moonlight, heard breathing and stomping, and smelled a musky sour odor. After revving the truck engine the sounds crashed rapidly downhill, and the pair left, seeing deer run across the road as they drove out.

The witness was bow-hunting in coastal second-growth forest on the morning of 9/1/01. He heard whooping and scream-like vocalizations followed by a large tree falling, plus heavy footsteps, and later found large ground impressions, broken limbs and tops, and animal hair high on a tree. An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

Over two nights a group of five gathered outside on the property for hide-and-seek and heard strange noises. The husband and a companion went to investigate and saw an entity 50 yards away hiding between two silos, noted for goldish reflective eyes, with a second smaller similar entity present on the last night. Investigators found fresh broken trees, dozens of footprints and two nests where a trail crossed a road and staked out the spot. No creature was seen, but something large moving on two feet approached the stakeout before fleeing downhill through brush when a car passed. The sign was documented the next day with footprint and tree-break measurements and a body-length impression in one nest.
