They heard persistent huffing and a growl, experienced silence and a sense of being watched, and reported a dark shape blocking a camper window. When leaving they later found muddy primate-like handprints high on the camper and a trailer lock twisted and broken.

Muddy handprints and smears on camper, one clearly primate-like, too big and too high to reach
Trailer lock twisted until it broke and doors found open
