The group confronted it, heard loud hissing and a loud bellow-whoop as it quickly climbed a rock face and disappeared. The next day measurements suggested 10 to 12 feet tall, with a heavy foot impression and dark hair found in the area.

A couple staying overnight on the screened porch of a wooded cabin report two nights of disturbance in June 2017. The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The witness reported ongoing activity near a forested home beginning in early spring 2013. During an initial walk in pines, he heard an extremely loud knock that frightened him and later heard whistles from the woods. He also reported finding multiple large and small track sets. Late at night the witness and a relative went outside to check a heavy thud behind the house. They saw a deer run past, then a very tall hair-covered human-like figure approach from the woods. After a shotgun shot was fired toward the treeline, the figure veered closer, stopped nearby, then moved along the treeline into the woods where it remained visible for several minutes. A strong odor was noticed and large footprints were found the next day.

The witness was deer hunting from an elevated stand near a pond late in the day. They spotted an upright, hair-covered figure by a cedar tree and watched it through a rifle scope for under a minute. After the witness disengaged the gun's safety, the figure grunted and fled into brush. The witness later found hair on a broken limb and thumb-like marks and scratches on bark where the figure had been.

The witness took his family camping on the eastern shore of Cougar Reservoir. In the middle of the night something large approached on two feet from a hill, and he placed himself between it and his family while his partner moved the children to the vehicle. He fired warning shots, experienced distorted hearing and an intrusive thought, then saw a very tall wide black figure stop at the wood line about 12 feet away before he backed to the vehicle and left.

Late at night at a yurt near a creek, the witness stepped outside and heard loud hooting/howling from across the creek. The sound was heard two more times from inside the yurt, and later the witness saw a faint outline duck behind trees on the hillside. The next morning a partial muddy footprint with hairs was found leading toward the yurt door.

Late at night the witness heard a very large bipedal animal moving through snowy woods to the woodline, breaking branches and small trees, but could see nothing despite moonlight. After listening with his wife from an upstairs window, he searched in the morning and reported large humanlike tracks, a crushed fence, and a dismembered deer with legs stacked by a sitting impression. While photographing the scene, he says a thrown stick struck his head, prompting him to run to the house.

A group of teenage girls doing shoreline cleanup heard loud screaming from the woods and then saw a hair-covered biped emerge from a marsh onto the beach. The creature appeared startled, took cover behind driftwood, and watched them from a crouch for several minutes. The frightened group fled to their van and left the beach.

Two people were shining lights for alligators beside a lake at night when vegetation beside the dock shook and repeated knocking like wood hitting a tree was heard. A nearby tree then fell, and as they ran toward safety they heard heavy steps and grunting keeping pace parallel to them. About an hour later they returned and found a tall tree freshly snapped about eight feet up with dripping sap and a hair on a branch.

The witness was riding an ATV down a washed-out road on a family farm when he briefly saw a tall, massive furred animal about 150-200 yards away that reflected sunlight and then retreated into thickets. After approaching the spot, he heard loud running with breaking limbs, then two loud bangs like wood knocks, followed by prolonged deer snorting and stomping before he left. He returned the next day to photograph suspected footprints and hair found on a limb.

On June 5th 2004 the witness was leading a group at a large archaeological site when the witness struck a large branch against a dry pine to try calling a response. No response was heard at the time. About four hundred yards along the exit trail the group found a dead grouse placed in the middle of the trail with wings tucked, still slightly warm, interpreted as a fresh placement similar to an earlier find.

The witness was camping overnight with friends in the Mount Baker National Forest near the river. Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.

After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

After shining a flashlight in that direction, the witness saw two hairy bipedal figures cross a fence and then ran inside.
