Shortly after turning a curve, the witness saw a tall brown bipedal animal about 40 yards away that turned and ran very quickly into the woods. A deep grunt-like vocalization was also heard. The witness did not shoot, citing uncertainty about what it was.

One or possibly two warbling or yodeling replies followed from the same direction. A few minutes later two bursts of rifle fire were heard from that direction, and a subsequent search with spotlights up to 2 km north and south found nothing.

A tall figure was seen peeking from behind a tree about 30 feet away and held eye contact for several seconds. The figure then turned and ran for several hundred feet, clearing a 5-6 foot fence without breaking stride despite fog.

A group of eight people were raccoon hunting with dogs when the dogs returned frightened with tails tucked. Shortly after starting to drive out, they saw a huge standing figure ahead of the truck estimated at 7.5 to 8 feet tall and dark in color. After backing up and later returning on foot, they found a large human-like footprint in mud in the road. They heard sticks breaking, left quickly, later returned to find the track destroyed by their vehicle, and subsequent visits produced no further sightings.

In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

The witness saw a large upright hair-covered being run across the road in front of the car and climb the bank into dense thickets. The driver saw movement but not details, and the occupants heard sounds of it moving upslope through leaf litter before it disappeared.

The family dismissed the account, and the witness reports occasional similar figures, eyes and sounds in the area since.

The witness was trying to sleep in a van while two companions slept in a tent nearby. The van began rocking violently from side to side until the witness yelled, then the witness shone a flashlight outside and saw a hair-covered figure walking upright past the vehicle into the forest. A foul cesspool-like odor was noticed around the camp, and the companions said pebbles had been tossed onto their tent and something had brushed against it. The group built a fire, discussed what happened, and packed up to leave early.
