Account
In early June 1994 the witness was fishing with two young companions at a beaver pond when an extremely loud gravelly two-toned scream was heard three times from a forested slope about 150 to 200 yards away. The witness judged the sound was not an elk or bear and left the area because the group was unarmed. The next morning the witness returned alone and found a line of very old large tracks but no definitive sign of the source.

Measurements: about 16" by 8" in size
In 1996 the witness and children backpacked to Big Lake for four nights without incident and noted an area game animals avoided.
