When the witness reached the crossing point, thick woods on both sides hid any further trace, and a second driver traveling behind did not see the crossing.

While hunting elk at dusk, the witness and a companion climbed out of a draw and surprised a tall black hair-covered creature about 30 feet away. The creature made a loud whoof sound as it moved into a small stand of pines, displacing a bough. After the pair backed away, it gave a low guttural growl ending with teeth clicking, frightening them enough to leave.

The witness drove late to a job site to retrieve a bobcat loader with a dump truck and trailer. While loading, he noticed a skunk-like smell and then saw red eyes watching from down the road, appearing taller than six feet. He maneuvered to turn the truck around and drove away quickly without looking back for several miles.

The witnesses estimated its height at over seven feet.

The creature stood upright, turned its head to look at him, then turned and leapt feet-first off the embankment out of sight. The witness believed it was not a bear because of its flat face, wide shoulders, and upright movement over the guardrail.

While resting near a rock face, the witness heard the dog bark, looked back, and saw a tall black figure running down the hill. The witness followed the sound of it crashing through brush to a clearing below, where the noise stopped.

The witness and a companion were walking toward a relative's home near the hills after their car broke down. They heard a whistling noise, then a howl-like sound, then a noise in nearby bushes which they went to investigate. A large figure appeared directly in front of them, and they ran while it chased them about 400 yards from the initial spot.
