A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. Both spent the rest of the night in the truck and left the area the next day.

Two boys were playing near a creek valley across from a house and waded into the water after hearing movement in the brush. One of them noticed a large very dark brown monkey- or gorilla-like creature watching them from behind bushes on the far bank. After noticing unnatural silence and hearing branch snaps circling him, he returned to his car. While sitting in the car he heard repeated impacts like cones hitting the vehicle and saw tall black hooded figures in the treeline and prone shapes on the grass that appeared closer each time he looked away, with faint flickering lights near their faces. He spoke to them, then drove away, later finding no damage and noticing maps show the turnout on the opposite side of the road from his memory.

In October 2001 on a late afternoon in Woodville, Texas, the witness looked out her kitchen window while cooking and saw a large black hairy biped standing motionless in profile about 50-60 feet away beside a tall tree. A relative searched the yard with a gun but found no sign, hearing only distant gunshots and unfamiliar men shouting in the woods.

An investigator later reviewed photos of broken and twisted trees and received frozen scat and hair samples for examination.

At sunrise the group found very large footprints leading from the water into the trees.

The witness and a relative were camping overnight when they heard a loud whooping sound nearby followed by loud crunching like branches breaking. A girl was heard screaming after the whooping. In the morning they found large footprints near their tent measuring about 12 to 16 inches long, which they felt were too large for a bear.

The witness and a friend were watching TV late at night when their pet goose became agitated and they heard branches breaking outside. They took flashlights outside and watched an ape-like animal crouched at the woods edge across the street for about 10 minutes, noting its long hair, eye color, and behavior in the lights. When they went inside briefly to get car keys for headlights, the animal had disappeared.
