Over about four years the household noticed odd sounds, smells and disturbances around their wooded Texas property. They heard voice-like calls, hoots, growls and repeated wood knocks, found scat, stripped and snapped trees, and missing bait. A wide bare footprint with a deep heel was later found in a raised garden bed after crops were taken, though neither person ever saw an animal.

They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.
Structure or nest in Wisconsin (2012)
While walking a ridge the witness noticed bent saplings and knocked on a tree, receiving clear wood-knock replies from a steep kettle below. A large living oak branch was then twisted toward the witness and ripped off, falling to the kettle bottom. Returning later with two companions, they found fresh twist damage and hand-like bark rubs with strong odor, then a young companion saw a light-colored bipedal figure and all heard a deep growl.

A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

The caller was alone at night in a gazebo overlooking a lake on his grandparents' 40-acre property in northern Missouri in August 2011. He heard a single sharp knock from below the dam, then felt overwhelming fear and retreated to the house before returning. After shining a powerful green laser toward the swampy area, something crashed loudly down the hill breaking trees, and next day he found freshly snapped trees.

The witness was fishing with two children and a dog at a remote lake when they heard a loud crash and tree-breaking sounds nearby. Through the night they heard movement around the tents, sticks hitting trees, branches breaking, and had objects disturbed including a tent stake pulled out. The witness and a younger relative parked and hiked toward a beaver dam meadow. The group walked back to the truck without running while hearing twigs snapping behind them, and later wondered if they had disturbed the animal while feeding.

On a cool afternoon in February 2007, the witness and a companion hiked in the woods to look for clues about strange activity. Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.
