After investigating, the pair heard a heavy bipedal approach pass close behind camp, prompting them to leave for the cabin. The next day the witness found a large footprint and a freshly fallen tree.

The witness claims that while hiking alone in cedar swampland, a hair-covered creature followed and watched him for over an hour, moving only when he moved and mimicking his crouching actions. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.

During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.

After a deep growl and handgun shots, they were confronted at the treeline by two large hairy figures that stomped, rocked, and threw branches. The two investigated together and reported finding trees snapped off high above the ground and deep elongated impressions in dry ground, which they followed for two miles into dense foliage. The witness adds that he was stalked himself the next day.

Two companions stopped on an unused dead-end road late at night. While one waited in the truck with the high beams on, a tall brown man-shaped animal appeared in the light. It stood still for about a minute, made a grunt sound, then turned and walked away with an unusual swaggering gait. The pair left the area in reverse, frightened by what they saw.

On July 16, 1997, a tour guide driving tourists along a road stopped near a burned-out bridge and watched an upright, hair-covered creature for about 15 minutes from 70 to 80 yards away. The guide moved the bus forward and backward to give passengers views and tried to get a passenger with a telephoto lens to exit for photos, but no one would leave. The guide then drove away and could not relocate the creature on a later return.

The son reported hearing a high-pitched scream and grunting that the father could not hear. They searched the spot but found no sign, noting an unusual absence of deer and elk sign.
