He retreated to the tent, where both occupants continued to hear breaking culminating in one very loud break. The next morning they found no footprints or broken limbs, only rock piles they noted.

During the night and again after dawn they repeatedly heard a loud aggressive exhale-like sound nearby, along with footsteps and branches breaking as something moved through the forest, followed by scream-like sounds that turned into chatter. In daylight they found a matted vegetation bed, a fresh flattened trail, and footprints in mud where the sounds had come from. The entity itself was never seen.
