As an 11-year-old lying alone in bed at the family island cottage, the witness felt watched from the windows behind her. She turned to see a large round head looking in through an open casement window. The head quickly ducked down and audibly struck the window pane, after which she ran to the adults, who dismissed the incident as a dream.

While serving on active duty and assigned to guard duty at a military base, the witness's father and others in his unit responded to a report of noises at a newly installed perimeter fence. They found several fence posts pulled from the ground and saw movement. They ordered whoever was there to show themselves and then fired, finding no blood or other result, and the unit was shipped out much earlier than originally scheduled.

The witness waited, then called law enforcement to report a prowler and while waiting heard windows and the back door rattle softly. Deputies arrived much later and remarked the figure must have been fairly tall, and no tracks were found the next day because of leaves.

He heard footsteps circle the cabin and then saw a very tall, dark-haired, gorilla-like figure fill the open doorway and stare in for several minutes. The witness was resting by the Des Plaines River during a bicycle ride when a hair-covered creature was seen across the river splashing in the water. After the witness coughed, the creature threw large rocks toward the witness, then crossed the river silently and confronted the witness at close range. The witness fled along a trail while hearing a loud howl and screaming and seeing additional shadowy figures across the river.

The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
Possible approach to a camp outside Penticton
The mother, sleeping with family in a tent trailer at a campground, was awake during the night while something was outside. In the morning the family found a cooler that had been tucked under the trailer dragged out, crushed, with food missing. The mother said she had seen its shadow on the tent wall and insisted it was neither a bear nor a man, remaining upset for most of the day.

In the fall of 1965 the witness was staying in a trailer on the family property when loud screaming was heard approaching from the direction of the river. The witness and a relative heard something pacing behind the dwelling while the screaming continued, then striking the trailer sides four or five times. The witness fired a gun once from the doorway, after which no further sound was heard that night.

In August 1964 two teenagers were walking back to a family cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon after dark when they heard footsteps matching their movements and a low unearthly growl. They ran through a gully to the cabin and locked themselves inside. They then heard the nearby outhouse door open and slam, saw nothing when they turned on an outside light, later heard the door fling open with crashing in brush, and spent the night upstairs.

During a family stay at a remote lake cabin the witness's stringer of catfish was found cleaned and lined up. Exploring uphill along a stream he watched a small hairy human-like figure play in a dammed pool, smash crawdads together and eat them. When it beckoned him closer he backed away and returned to the cabin without telling anyone.

While caddying on a private golf course in 1960, the witness says a large soil-stained boulder fell vertically through a tree beside the 13th green and nearly struck a golfer. The fall was heard tearing through branches and leaves. He questioned the initial explanation of quarry blasting because the single rock was soil-stained rather than freshly quarried and fell straight down rather than scattering.

A young man parked with his girlfriend watched a herd of elk rush past the car, then felt something push the back of the car. He opened the door, turning on the dome light, and came face to face with a tall upright wolf-like creature snarling and drooling. His girlfriend screamed that a second one was stepping out behind it, and he got back in and drove away.

A family bought an old homestead where the son repeatedly said little people bothered him in the forest, horses refused the barn, and the barn smelled foul. One evening during dinner the son pointed to a bay window and the father saw a three-foot-tall hairy human-like being by an outdoor spigot apparently chattering to others below. It made eye contact, widened its eyes, leaned back, and dropped from view. The father later found a rock-covered hole in the barn opening to caverns with strong odor, and a neighbor warned that dwarves lived under the old ruined house.
