While caddying on a private golf course in 1960, the witness says a large soil-stained boulder fell vertically through a tree beside the 13th green and nearly struck a golfer. The fall was heard tearing through branches and leaves. He questioned the initial explanation of quarry blasting because the single rock was soil-stained rather than freshly quarried and fell straight down rather than scattering.

branches and leaves cut as rock fell through entire tree
An investigator later spoke with the witness at length about the caddy incident and noted the area remains connected by green corridors.
