Rock throwing near Neosho, Missouri (2025)
Three young men walked a trail at night in a conservation area to look for a pond. Rocks were thrown toward two of them from the woods, strange pacing, a low growl, and rhythmic booming sounds followed them. They found fresh green trees snapped and laid across the trail blocking the path, then were hurried out by more rock throws and close movement before the woods went quiet and normal night sounds returned near the car.

In the morning the camp was undisturbed and a rock was found in a hammock behind the camper.

Returning again that night without the wife, they heard a limb crack and a heavy thud as a rock landed by the buddy. A huge shouldered figure was seen behind the machine before they fled, later finding a high broken limb and a heavy rock.

In the morning stacked rocks were gone, footprints were found, and a large pine by the carcass had been pushed over.

Two visitors with a thermal camera joined the investigator and the homeowner after dark near the feeding fence. The group was pelted with rocks, heard branches snapping and saw large trees broken, saw eyeshine, and detected about five heat signatures. Two men reported being hit by something like infrasound, shaking and nauseous. The investigator accidentally shut the camera off when handed it.

The animal stood upright, revealing a very tall, broad, dark-brown hairy human-like form, and the driver got out and shouted at it. The witness and a friend were collecting molted eagle feathers near a swamp around sunset. They heard two very loud splashes close by that sounded like large rocks being thrown into the water. They pushed through overgrown vegetation to investigate and found a fresh path flattened through tall weeds but saw nothing. As they were leaving they heard distant chattering like talking, although they believed no one else was in the woods.

The contractors reported having rocks thrown at them over two days, with one rock hitting a worker, followed on two later evenings by loud growls from woods only yards behind them. The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

A few nights later both were awakened by a similar house-shaking slam followed by a loud deep growl. They could not explain how an animal could strike with such force and initially wondered about a bear.

Last summer the witness was kayaking down a creek around midday when rocks splashed near him. He looked toward the source and saw a creature kneeling like a person, which then stood, made eye contact for about 30 seconds, and ran through the woods. He noted its stride was wider than a human's and it went straight through brush. He then paddled back to his truck.
