Around sunset Thursday she heard a human-like owl hooting followed by birds falling silent, then a rock-like impact on the cabin wall. Similar rock-like impacts on the cabin were heard after dark on Friday and Saturday nights, and a companion later heard loud rustling and a loud tree-strike sound behind the cabin Sunday morning.

Two campers floating and fishing the Lower Buffalo River heard loud monkey-like vocalizations from the bank and later camped on a gravel bar. Through the night they reported repeated wood knocks, yells, chatter, whistles, a tree snap, and cantaloupe-sized rocks landing in the river from the ridge across from camp. They lit the camp, kept fire watch in shifts, and at dawn packed and paddled out after a final rock fell in front of them.

She reported hearing unintelligible muttering outside and then feeling a hard push or jolt that moved the trailer. About 3 a.m. the witness, sleeping in a vehicle, woke to rustling and watched a large dark figure hunched over the picnic table going through bags and trash from about 15 feet away. Companions in tents heard rustling and grunting. In the morning there was no scattered trash, but a charcoal bag showed marks and some contents missing.

The witness and a companion were camping in tents in a largely deserted mountain campground. On two consecutive nights after 11 p.m. the witness heard strange sounds near his tent, including chatter, stone-like banging, cough-like and shushing noises, and a deep guttural grunt from about thirty feet away. On the second night small debris struck the side of his tent as if thrown. The companion confirmed hearing weird noises on the first night.

They claim loud tree knocks, howls, grunts, heavy bipedal movement and red glowing eyes, plus a shadowy figure that rose from about five feet to about eight feet tall. They also claim a glow stick left on a gravel road was later found moved to the base of a hollow tree.
