The witness was on the back porch at home around 8 p.m. when a tree-knock-like sound was heard from the woods to the northeast. About five minutes later a low rumble rising into a deep whoop-like sound was heard from the same general area. The witness went inside and turned off the exterior lights. No visual contact was reported.

The witness and a companion were on the porch in the evening when they heard a rumble-like vocal that turned into a whoop, followed by the sound of a tree crashing nearby. About ten minutes later they heard a second, louder crash from farther away. They searched with a spotlight, saw nothing, heard rustling in the woods, then went inside.

The witness was driving east to work in the early morning when headlights illuminated a large hair-covered biped in the road. The creature crossed from a field into woods on the south side in two quick steps without looking at the vehicle. The witness stopped the truck to look and listen but the creature was out of sight and nothing was heard.

On the afternoon of October 17, 2012, the witness and a companion were walking on the Appalachian Trail near their rented cabin when they heard a very low, bone-rattling growl lasting a few seconds. The witness reported feeling the sound in the chest and joints and found no match after comparing it to known animal sounds. Nothing was seen, and the pair quickly left the area with their dog.
