Wood knock in Washington
Account
Two weeks before the call the witness camped with others in the Washington Cascades. The first night brought an unsolicited wood knock and coyote activity with a possible non-coyote howl, plus frogs going silent east of camp. Next morning they found a matted bough area and a second small pile with X and V stick arrangements thirty feet away, and that afternoon heard movement, an elk-like mew and rock clacks that stopped after the witness tapped back.
