man hunting smells something he cannot identify
Account
The witness had been bear hunting from two stands along a closed road and was walking back to the truck before dark. At the site of the first stand, the witness encountered an overpowering musty stench described as like a dead animal and felt watched, but did not enter the timber for lack of a light. The witness later told a companion at camp, who suggested the odor could have been a bigfoot, an idea the witness had not initially considered. The witness noted the smell had not been present during an hour spent in the same spot earlier.
