Union Pacific Railway Conductor Observes Great Ape on Railroad Trackbed
Account
The witness was working as a conductor on a westbound freight train at daybreak near milepost 36. The witness reported a dark figure between the rails, and after the whistle was blown the tall hairy figure with long arms stood up and ran on two legs into trees and brush with arms swinging. The crew looked into the cover where it went but could not see it again.
