Whistle in British Columbia
Account
The guest describes a lifetime pattern from childhood of checking shellfish beaches for broken shells and depressions before digging. When crews dug at night they would hear whistles, chirps, knocks and trees pushed down. The crew would leave a box of cockles at the treeline as a gift, after which the noises stopped.
