The figure moved briskly with swinging arms and a forward-leaning upper torso before disappearing into pines on the far side. The witness's companion was watching a hawk and did not see the figure, and the witness remained uncertain what it was.

The witness was studying at home late at night when a tethered dog and nearby livestock became highly agitated. The witness went to the front door with a pistol and flashlight and saw a large figure crouched in tall grass outside a hot-wire fence. When the shape swiveled slightly, the witness backed away and returned quickly to the vehicle, visibly frightened.

On the fourth day of an elk hunt, the witness stopped on a ridgeline trail and watched a large upright brown figure across a ravine. The figure walked on two legs, then sat on a downed alder with its back to the witness, swinging its legs and appearing to pick foliage for about 30 minutes while the witness watched through binoculars and a rifle scope and whistled to get its attention. The witness then left up the ridge without approaching and rejoined the hunting party at the vehicles.
