From an overlook the witness watched three hikers with a dog on the trail below through binoculars and noticed a large black bipedal figure moving ahead of them through the adjacent meadow. The figure moved much faster than the hikers, away from them, jumped the creek, and disappeared into trees on the far side of the valley after about five minutes. The witness judged it much larger than a man and stated it was not a bear, and believed the hikers never saw it.

The witness was camping with family at a secluded wooded site and sleeping in a tent when awakened during the night. Through the tent screen the witness saw a tall, dark, hair-covered bipedal silhouette standing a short distance away, which stood still briefly before turning and walking away toward a field out of view. The witness told family the next morning and later searched the field but found no trace.

The witness and a relative were hiking near Helmets Peak at mid-day. They reported finding a large human-like footprint in very rough, rocky ground with widely spaced trees. The print was described as about the size of the relative's foot or larger.

After studying the unclear single print and showing it to the friend, who noted faint toes, they continued down the creek. About 100 yards away they found six or seven more similar large prints in snow and mud with three to five toes visible.

The witness was using an elk call when a large dark figure was seen standing across a clearcut, watching for about 30 seconds before turning with a distinctive upper-body swing and walking uphill into dense aspen. In the early afternoon the witness hiked from one high mountain lake toward nearby Lost Lake. Near a boulder about 20 yards away the witness saw a large hairy biped that crouched, looked toward the lake and the witness, then stood and walked briskly into trees out of earshot. The witness estimated the encounter lasted 8 to 12 seconds and then left the area quickly without following.

In November 1995 the witness stood alone at night in Chautauqua Park overlooking the city lights when a rustling sound drew attention to a large hairy human-like silhouette about 30 meters away. The witness was camping and was awake in a sleeping bag in the early morning when extremely loud, bellowing two-part vocalizations were heard. One or possibly two warbling or yodeling replies followed from the same direction. A few minutes later two bursts of rifle fire were heard from that direction, and a subsequent search with spotlights up to 2 km north and south found nothing.

While hunting deer, the witness and companions stopped on a road overlooking a slope and watched several upright jet-black creatures for several minutes with the naked eye and optics. Two larger individuals were first seen in the open, then smaller individuals about half their size emerged from a draw. The creatures moved into brush as a pickup passed on a road below, and the witnesses later found only sliding marks in loose dirt on the steep hillside.

On the second night the guest and his friend heard loud howl-screams approaching rapidly from the valley below. As they ran for the car the guest fell, was helped up, and felt a stick hit his legs while glimpsing a dark crouched shape behind him. The friend reported seeing a tall hairy man-like creature close behind, and both fled, later concluding it was a Bigfoot.

The guest and his friend were sleeping in a tent on the first night of a weekend camping trip when they heard sticks breaking and heavy movement approaching. Something pressed into the side of the tent by the friend's head and then moved down the side as if a hand dragged along it. Both fled to the car, saw nothing when they lit the area, and slept in the car.

Two companions lagging behind a larger hiking group returning from a mountain lake saw a tall light-grey figure leap between trees about 30-60 yards away. The figure showed clearly visible arms and legs, moved very quickly and made no sound. The witnesses first thought it was a relative playing a trick, but found that relative already back at camp, and they ruled out deer, sheep, elk or bear. Rain that night prevented any follow-up search for tracks.

The witness and a relative were hunting elk when they followed a strong smell and clashing rock sounds to a ridge. They observed a large hair-covered animal squatting in a dry creek bed striking two rocks together while vocalizing, which then stood, leapt the creek, and ran upslope out of sight. They later collected two chipped rocks from the spot but found no tracks or hair.

The witness was driving alone to work before dawn when headlights illuminated a tall upright figure descending an embankment and crossing the highway. The figure paused briefly in front of a warning sign, looked toward the vehicle, then went over the opposite embankment out of view. The witness slowed briefly then left in fear and later returned in daylight to find large indentations descending the embankment.
