Several service members were occupying fighting holes on a hill ridge at night during a mock combat exercise when they noticed movement behind them. A large hair-covered biped that had been kneeling stood up, walked between their positions while watching them, paused to look back, and then left the clearing. The group also reported a strong unusual odor at the time.
Campers have morning sighting in Uwharrie National Forest
The witness and his father were driving back toward their campsite in the national forest in the morning when they saw a large upright figure on and crossing the dirt road. The figure briefly stopped, looked toward them, then stepped off the road and walked downhill into the woods, at one point completely blocking a roadside sign from view. They drove to the spot where it left the road and found the brush undisturbed and no tracks.

Throughout spring 2004 the witness and several neighbors repeatedly heard what sounded like a bipedal creature walking through woods at night, often while area dogs barked intensely. Plants outside the witness's window were found repeatedly flattened and scratching was heard on a neighbor's house. In May the witness heard a loud distant scream described as a classic Bigfoot scream. The disturbances stopped abruptly in July.

Two campers watched deer remain fixated and agitated toward a mountain trail for about five minutes before calming. As the witnesses walked back toward camp, they heard a single long, echoing primate-like call from the dark woods in the direction the deer had stared. The witness later compared it to a gibbon call but with more body, and said he had never heard anything like it despite extensive time outdoors.

The witness and a companion were on a late-night walk while camping when they heard a loud scream. Moments later several rocks were thrown in their direction. Frightened, they retreated to camp and left early the next morning without seeing the source.

The witness was driving home at night with a relative when headlights revealed eyes ahead on the road. On approaching slowly, the witness described an upright, bear-like figure with dark hair, long limbs, and height comparable to a very tall relative. The witness returned the next morning and found no footprints, attributing this to dry, hard ground.

Two campers collecting firewood at night heard a repeated long scream coming from deep in the valley to the southwest. The sound continued for several minutes every few seconds, changing into a broken-up cackle or yodel-like sound. Having never heard such a sound despite regular camping in the area, they relocated to another campsite for the night.

On one night in the woods the group heard yelping and yipping that did not sound like known coyotes, which were not yet common locally. On other occasions the witness heard their name called with no one around. Later, while living there with a spouse, the witness repeatedly heard what sounded like the spouse calling from the woods, but the spouse was not home.

During a December 2000 snowstorm evening the witness's normally calm dog reacted intensely as if an animal was outside. About two and a half hours later the witness found a single line of very large, deep, widely spaced footprints in snow crossing the yard from one wooded area to another. The witness compared the prints to their own boot and stride and judged they were made around the time of the dog's reaction, but blowing snow had obscured detail.

While camping with family, the witness stayed awake reading until 2-3 a.m. and heard a deep bellowing howl from the southwest that called repeatedly for over 30 minutes, moved west over a ridge, and returned around 4 a.m. heading southeast. No animal was seen and the dog remained asleep.

While commuting to work in the morning, the witness pulled over to watch what they first thought was a bear sitting under a large pecan tree. After noticing a strong foul odor, they watched the animal stand, walk to the tree on two feet, and shake pecans from it. After the witness honked, the animal froze, turned to look, made a loud screeching noise, and ran quickly into the woods.

On a snowy early winter morning, a witness noticed three large human-like footprints in otherwise undisturbed snow and asked the second witness to look. Both went outside and inspected three very large five-toed prints that appeared isolated without a trail leading in or out. The prints were later described as pristine and measuring sixteen inches long by seven inches wide.

On a snowy night a friend took a wrong trail, stalled a four-wheeler, and started walking out. Something large moving in the brush without vocalizing blocked going down and flanked the friend, pushing up and to the right. The friend reached a cabin with people and a telephone at the top and called for pickup.

The witness was trout fishing along a creek with a companion. The witness noticed a disturbed sand bar suggesting something had forded the creek, then found a single large footprint in wet sand between rocks. The witness compared the print to their own boot and described it as much larger and wider.

The witness was sleeping overnight at a companion's house after hunting nearby. At about 3 a.m. the witness woke to a howling or wailing sound from the woods outside that lasted 30 seconds to a minute. A companion sleeping nearby did not wake. The witness stayed in bed frightened and later felt the sound matched a howl recording heard on the archive website.

In November 1997 the witness looked from an upstairs window and saw two gray upright figures at the woods edge about 100 yards behind the house. He watched for about ten seconds while they stood side by side swaying, then ran downstairs and outside but they were gone. A relative who was at the house did not see them, and a later search found no tracks or unusual odor.

The witness's older relatives were sitting at a field wood line when a large upright creature approached them quickly, sounding like it was tearing down trees. One shone a light and threw the flashlight toward it, and both were left badly shaken in their truck. One has since refused to return to that area.

The witness arrived before dawn to hunt deer from a tree stand on a wooded base. Around sunrise a small black furry animal about three feet tall near the tree stood up on two legs, then dropped to all fours and ran toward cover, disappearing silently. The witness left the area without examining the ground and later interpreted the animal as a young Sasquatch.

The witness and a friend were driving slowly up a gravel mountain road at dusk toward a friend's house. They came around a curve and saw a tall, orange-haired biped standing by the roadside, which then crossed in front of the truck and ran up a steep bank with ease. The witness got out, smelled a foul odor and heard it crashing through brush uphill, and returned the next day to find no trace.
