As a young teen helping with family cleaning work at a ranger station complex, the witness was taking trash to a rear dumpster by a pond when a close, loud screech like an animalistic woman screaming was heard. The frightened witness ran back to a building where a relative was working, and neither could identify the sound, tentatively attributing it to a mountain lion despite doubt.

The dogs reacted strongly and the witness heard loud crunching approaching from behind on the road. Believing a very large bipedal entity was closing to within about 50 feet, the witness accelerated away to the paved road and did not return alone.

The witness and a companion found very large footprints and broken branches while hiking and felt watched and followed back to the companion's house. The next morning the witness, sleeping on a couch by large front windows, saw a very tall brown human-like hairy creature in the clearing outside. After watching for several minutes, the creature approached, climbed a bank, and struck the house wall hard enough to wake the companion.

The witness was hiking alone on a wooded mountain trail in summer when they noticed a moving, fur-covered animal about 100 yards ahead. Using binoculars and moving closer downwind, they watched it forage, move stones and wood, and stack rocks, noting its tall massive body, reddish fur, long arms, large human-like hands, and dark human-like face. The animal eventually moved back into the forest and the frightened witness ran back to the trail.

Two riders got their bike and 4-wheeler stuck in a pit in a reclaimed strip mine. While working to free them they saw a large brown figure walking along the top of the highwall, crouch down behind a tree and watch them. After about an hour it stood and walked away the way it came, and the riders later left the same direction.

The witness and a companion were camping overnight by a creek in a swampy forest around midnight. They heard footsteps approaching along the creek to within about 30 yards, followed by loud screaming/howl-like vocalizations and sounds of a tree being torn up. The companion stepped a short distance into the woods to speak toward the sounds while the witness stayed by the fire with a shotgun without firing. After a few minutes the sounds and movement stopped and the source left without being seen.

Two sisters driving home around 2 a.m. reported a very hairy bipedal creature walking in front of their Honda and touching the front of the vehicle. The creature looked directly at them and continued walking slowly with a sideways gait described as limping or injured, showing no fear. The witness estimated its height at about 5 foot 4.

Two witnesses delivering newspapers stopped their pickup on a rural dirt road around 3:30am after seeing a large hairy ape-like figure standing in the headlights. The figure began to approach the truck and witnesses felt its midsection was clearly not a bear or other known animal. Both noted an overwhelming cabbage-like odor that caused one witness to gag.

The witness returned from fetching snacks to a foul odor and a feeling of being watched. The witness saw something crouched in a tree with a leg hanging and later a head watching from behind a shooting target, then heard the loud bark-like vocalization. The group fled and later found fire, shredded supplies, flattened vegetation and hair.

Family witness a 7-8 foot tall creature, covered with hair, standing in the middle of the road
The witness was riding with family while driving at night on Highway 17 when a tall hair-covered figure was seen standing on the center line. Both the witness's car and an oncoming car stopped and observed it illuminated by taillights for about 30 seconds. The figure then leapt off the roadway into the adjacent creek/river, and both cars drove away without investigating.
