The witness and a relative were hunting elk when they followed a strong smell and clashing rock sounds to a ridge. They observed a large hair-covered animal squatting in a dry creek bed striking two rocks together while vocalizing, which then stood, leapt the creek, and ran upslope out of sight. They later collected two chipped rocks from the spot but found no tracks or hair.

While hunting moose by ATV the witness stopped on a trail for a snack while a companion rode ahead to scout. After hearing brush movement and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a tall, muscular, dark-haired biped step onto the trail, look toward the companion's direction and then at the witness, sniff and grunt, then walk silently across a meadow into thick brush. After the companion returned they found only indistinct marks and disturbed vegetation, then heard a single loud crack like wood being struck and fled the area.

The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand when a small hair-covered creature approached to within about forty feet. The creature remained behind a tree for about 15 minutes, peeking out at the witness and appearing to smile. The animal came up one embankment, crossed in a few seconds, went up the steep opposite bank and disappeared into brush. The witness and a companion were cutting cedar blocks by a creek when they heard a loud, long drawn-out scream resembling a man yelling for help coming from below them. The sound was loud enough to be heard over a running powersaw and was heard three times over several minutes before stopping. No creature was seen and no roads were noted below the sound's location.

The witness had been elk hunting and then walked toward a lake with a fishing rod when a hump was noticed among young trees a few hundred yards away. Using a rifle scope and later moving to a cliff, the witness watched for about two hours as the figure raised its head above the trees, made deep chattering pig-like grunts, moved its arms and stamped a foot, and crouched to avoid a passing truck. After shots were fired into the air, the figure ran very fast across rough ground, jumped into a deep ravine and disappeared into distant forest. The next day the witness found large prints, hairs, a partly eaten coyote in a trap, and followed a strong sweet stench to a cave.

The witness dropped a shotgun and ran home, later returning with a relative to recover the gun but seeing nothing.

The witness and a companion were camping on a peninsula during a trip. In the very early morning their dog became agitated and they heard movement among brick piles across the lake, followed by about a dozen repeated pickup-like sounds and splashes near their tent. The witness was driving north on a paved highway in the early evening when a figure rose from the dry grass in the roadside ditch. The figure crossed the road about 100 yards ahead without looking to either side, moving quickly with long steps, then entered brush and disappeared. The witness continued to the first available telephone and called home to report what had been seen.
