A couple traveling separately on a winding mountain road each reported seeing a large hairy biped. The husband reportedly saw it cross the road and head downhill toward the river, while the wife shortly after saw it cross back and climb uphill. They reunited, compared notes, and later found sign where an animal had passed. Both concluded they had seen the same Bigfoot-like animal.

On November 1, 2009, the witness and his wife were camping in a public campground late in the evening. In moonlight they noticed a large, broad, dark shape about six feet tall moving on two legs among the trees near camp, which appeared to stop, look toward them, and sway. The witness was driving home at night with four relatives when the group noticed something beside the road. The witness searched with a flashlight but saw and heard nothing further and felt the animal might be hiding nearby, so they left the area.

The witness was camping with a scout group at Loon Lake when two groups of loud, low howl-like calls were heard from a distance through the forest in the early morning. The witness, accompanied by relatives in the tent, described the calls as powerful and haunting and thought they came from a very large animal. Other campers also heard the sounds, with some attributing them to wolves, while the witness later felt they matched a sasquatch howl recording.

The witness was camping with three dogs and playing with them near the campfire before sunset when loud primate-like calls were heard from up the mountain and canyon. After the witness mimicked the calls, the callers replied and appeared to move closer, while the dogs grew fearful and cowered. Once sounds were very close in the trees after dark and the dogs barked aggressively at the vehicle windows, the witness left the area by vehicle.

The witness was driving with companions toward Potlatch when a large dark figure appeared by the road. The figure crossed the highway in three long steps, swinging its long arms, then crossed a ditch and disappeared into the pine forest. The witnesses looked but did not see it again in the woods.
