The witness was sleeping in a tent at a campground with family when he awoke in the night. He heard four loud heavy bipedal footsteps pass through the campsite. A young deer that had stayed near camp the prior nights was gone the next morning. He later speculated an animal had pushed the deer toward others waiting in the woods.

While elk hunting, the witness and his wife both noticed a strong musty odor and the witness heard loud wood-on-wood-like raps from nearby woods. While walking back to their vehicle, they discovered two very large five-toed footprints in firm soil that they estimated were one or two days old. No creature was seen.

He stayed still without turning on a light and heard no footsteps or breathing as the movement stopped. The witness was hiking a mountain trail with three children who had run ahead. He noticed a large upright hairy figure moving behind the treeline about 50 to 100 yards away, watching it for less than a minute as it moved through brush and woods. He returned at daybreak, found no tracks, and later concluded the sound matched alleged sasquatch vocalizations after comparing it to known animal recordings.

While turkey hunting with his wife in deep snow on an unused dirt road, the guest saw huge spaced divots. He crossed a creek and found a giant footprint with toes in a straight line. He followed the same individual's older and newer tracks to a cliff where it climbed, with body drag in snow, and photographed them.

While riding alone upriver the witness glassed a black figure moving across a distant meadow. Through binoculars it walked upright with arms swinging in a frolicking way. After dirt bikes passed it ran on two legs, dropped to all fours looking lurpy, then barrel-rolled into the timber.

While hunting in the morning with a spouse, the witness heard an extremely loud vocal sound coming from a roadless area and echoing off hills. The sound began as a low roar and rose to a high-pitched primal scream, lasting about six to seven seconds and repeating four times over about ninety seconds. The witness reported lifelong outdoor experience in Colorado and said the sound matched no known animal and caused a chill. No animal was seen.
Possible approach to campers near Spring Creek Pass in the San Juan Mountains
A couple stopped at sunset in a pullout beside a stream to eat and fish for the night. The witness heard loud crashing in brush near the truck, faint low growls from across the road, and later loud splashing from a drainage, while the companion reported finding very large, deep footprints in mud by the stream. Neither saw the source of the sounds or tracks, and they left the area feeling something large had stayed hidden nearby.

They heard heavy footfalls and branch breaking approaching from a draw, then saw a large light-colored upright figure about 40 feet away at the edge of the firelight. The witness and his father were dressing an elk on a steep mountain slide when they heard 8-10 loud rhythmic knocks from dense timber about 100 yards away to the south. The sounds were described as crisp impacts like rock on wood and unlike anything they could identify. The father had heard similar loud knocks earlier that same morning from up the slide.

Three coworkers riding in a golf cart while collecting flags passed within a few feet of a tall pale human-like figure beside the path near hole 13. They drove past, confirmed they had all seen something, and turned back; two of them saw it again peeking from behind the elevated tee box before it moved out of sight. They left, returned minutes later in an enclosed cart, and heard repeated creaking sounds nearby before leaving the area.

During a daytime hike up a drainage on 10 Sept, the witness stopped at an old hunting camp and heard two clear wood knocks about 150-200 yards away. After confirming by radio that no other participants were nearby or knocking, the witness knocked back and received an immediate two-knock reply from slightly farther away. Further knocks and whoops over about 30 minutes drew no additional replies, and no movement or odor was noticed. The witness then returned to camp and later revisited the area by ATV with others.

In late September 2005 the witness was camped at Jacob's Hill and sitting by the fire when a loud throaty wailing roar lasting about 5-10 seconds came from timber between meadows. Coyotes in several nearby spots immediately began howling and yelping as if disturbed. The witness did not hear the sound again during that trip.
Dusk sighting by charter bus driver on Hwy 160 near Mancos
A professional driver was driving an empty bus eastbound on U.S. Highway 160 near Mancos, between Cortez and Durango, shortly after sunset. About 150 yards ahead, the witness saw a large, entirely dark, muscular figure on two legs dash rapidly across the road from south to north in two to three seconds. When the witness reached the crossing point, thick woods on both sides hid any further trace, and a second driver traveling behind did not see the crossing.

The witness and his wife were bedded down in their pop-up camper at night when they heard lapping sounds and their skillet rattling outside. The witness opened the camper door expecting a bear and saw a large dark upright shape about forty feet away moving swiftly into the timber. The camper shook strongly as the animal left while nearby dogs barked. In the morning no tracks were found and they could not recreate the shaking.
Campers driven off mountain by unseen intruders
Three campers were around a late-night campfire when they heard repeated series of deep two-tone howls from hills to the north and south and a loud tree-impact sound. One source of howls moved from about 100 yards west to about 50 yards in the treeline, appearing to exchange calls with a distant source while crashing through brush toward camp. Alarmed, the group packed under guard and drove out, hearing the howls again from about a mile behind them. They later interpreted the incident as possibly involving three large communicating beings.

The witness and a companion were snowshoeing off trail and became stuck in a steep ravine. They found a trackway of large human-like footprints with a long stride ascending a very steep slope through deep snow. They judged the tracks unlike deer, elk, bear, or human due to depth, stride, and lack of drag marks.
