Rocks thrown at two hikers on Heather Lake Trail
Around 2001 the witness and a companion hiked Heather Lake Trail in the late afternoon as the last hikers on the trail. While taking turns stepping away to urinate near the top, each had a rock thrown at them from an unseen source. As they hurried and then ran back down, they heard heavy stomping and breaking branches moving parallel to them, and another rock was thrown after they briefly hid behind a tree, prompting them to flee to their car frightened.
Bow hunters find footprint and hear vocalizations near Indian Heaven Wilderness
Two elk hunters stopped to wash in a creek off a forest road and found a single very large footprint in soft sandy soil. The print was estimated to be much larger and deeper than an adult's print and lacked clear toe marks. No animal was seen, and no other tracks are described.

They reunited and confirmed both had heard the sounds but could not identify them. The witness and a relative were driving west on Highway 12 late at night toward Packwood. About 100 yards ahead a tall hair-covered figure crossed the road from right to left on two legs in a few long steps and disappeared. The witness slowed but saw nothing else follow.
Three sets of tracks found
Two bear hunters on foot found three sets of large footprints traveling together in a muddy flat back in the woods. The prints were in a low area filled with rain water and were judged to be fairly recent because the edges lacked degradation. A single plaster cast of the largest print was made within 24 hours, but the cast was poor due to inexperience.

The witness and relatives stopped at a meadow while fishing and scouting for elk sign. The witness found three large fresh scats of unrecognized plant-based material and a large humanlike footprint beside one scat. The witness was horseback riding with a companion through woods in the hills when she felt watched. She then noticed a large human-like figure deep in the woods beside the trail. She did not tell the companion at the time but urged a faster pace and later told a relative. The witness now avoids riding alone in those hills.

Three people camping while bear hunting heard loud howls and screams from the treeline surrounding their camp at night. The sounds appeared to circle the camp and continued despite banging pots and pans and firing a shotgun into the air. The group packed up and waited in their truck until about 4 a.m. while the sounds persisted, then left. They later found openly left food untouched and found no tracks.
Screams wake campers on consecutive nights at Cle Elum Lake
The reporter and a relative were camping overnight in a tent. Around 4 a.m. they were awakened by extremely loud, unfamiliar screaming that the reporter recognized as matching a BFRO recording. Other campers in surrounding sites were also awake, and gunshots were heard along with the screams.
Witness heard what sounded like sticks being beaten on wood
The witness stopped on a bridge over a washed-out creek to videotape the creek bed while sightseeing. While filming he heard heavy wood-on-wood strikes from the left answered from the right at varying intervals, which he verified was not an echo. Feeling anxious, he returned to his idling vehicle and left, and a relative later reviewed the tape where the beats were faintly audible and recorded an interview with the witness that evening.

The witness reports finding two unknown animal footprints on a sandy area near a river bar, with one print destroyed by stepping and the other identified as a clear right foot. Late at night the witness was inside a trailer in the woods when a loud, strange bellowing was heard twice from the woods. The witness stepped outside onto the porch to listen and judged the sound came from 100 to 150 yards away and from a very large, nocturnal animal. After waiting, the witness walked up a nearby dirt road with a flashlight but found nothing.
Footprints found with huge Toes on each print
Five companions on a camping trip drove to near the top of Corral Pass to scout a hike. While looking for tracks in snow, they found a trail of large bare footprints with distinct toes and no claws. They concluded the prints were not bear or boot prints and continued their trek in silence.
Creature seen by witnesses at the bottom of the hill
The witness and a companion were elk hunting from a ridge when they heard soft murmuring voices they took for approaching hunters. They then heard heavy thumps retreating down the brushy ridge and briefly saw a big black object moving fast into the trees on the flat below. Both initially considered a black bear but later felt that explanation did not fit the vocal sounds and movement.

The witness and his youngest son were hunting with family and heard noises they thought were elk. While investigating on foot, they noticed a dark trunk-like shape in the bushes about 25 yards away that appeared to have eyes that moved. The son locked the vehicle door and urged immediate departure. The witness remains mostly but not fully convinced the shape was not a tree.
Screams heard by hunters
Two people talking loudly while hunting heard two or three loud, high-pitched screams described as like a sick cow. They took cover behind a log as loud branch-breaking and thumping sounds seemed to approach them, then the sounds stopped abruptly and they left the area quickly.

The witness was deer hunting from an old logging road overlooking a cleared area when a tall bipedal figure emerged from the treeline across a draw. At first mistaking it for a very large man on a road, he realized it was far taller than a human with long strides and brown coloration. The figure appeared to turn toward him, then returned into the treeline. He later crossed to the spot and found no road, only uneven ground and a steep draw beyond.
