The movement stopped when the witness stopped and resumed when the witness ran. Near the highway the witness looked back and saw a tall dog-headed creature with a muscular chest and rolled shoulders emerge from the corn. The witness sprinted across the highway and jumped a fence into a friend's pool area, after which the creature was gone.

Something in the corn paced him, stopping when he stopped and sprinting when he sprinted, staying silent except for rustling stalks. Near the end of his route he glanced back and saw a tall, dark-furred, dog-headed biped with a muscular chest and long arms emerge from the corn and look at him. He sprinted across a busy highway to a friend's house, jumped the pool fence, and hid underwater until he felt safe.

On the night of July 4, 1984 the witness was slowly driving a companion home on a rural road lined with fences and cornfields. He saw a large hair-covered light-colored figure standing behind a fence watching him as he drove past. He kept driving without speaking and then saw in the rear-view mirror that it turned and went back into the cornfield. The companion was asleep and did not see it.

The witness was driving with a companion to a school game when they found a very large, hairy animal squatting in the middle of a narrow road. The driver steered toward it to avoid the creek and expected an impact from about ten feet away, but the animal dodged without contact and was gone when checked in the mirror. The witness was hunting deer alone in the morning when he entered a brushy opening on a hilltop and noticed a tall black furry human-like figure about 40 feet away with its back turned. The figure was breaking and twisting branches from small trees while moving its upper body. After watching briefly and deciding it was neither a bear nor a human, the witness left the area quickly and ended the hunt.

The witness was following dogs while hunting raccoons in the woods with a party. A loud scream, loud crashing noises, and an awful smell were encountered. The dogs returned scared to the trucks, with one smelling of skunk.

Three people were out at night exercising a coon dog when they found two very large footprints in a cornfield between woods. They examined the prints by light, became frightened, and left for the truck. The reporter later returned to photograph the prints and compared one to a size-13 boot.

The witness visited a friend's farm after loaning a truck and found a very large footprint in mud, attempting a plaster cast. Later he saw a dark figure bobbing while holding a tree limb across a field, then saw a hairy long hand touching the plaster. The friend confirmed seeing the distant figure and the friend's wife reported hearing breathing near a shed, followed by rustling and barefoot sounds.

The witness was walking home on a road late at night when they noticed a man-like silhouette standing on a hill with its upper half visible above scrub brush. Both the witness and the figure fled in opposite directions. The night was bright and moonlit, and tree frogs were unusually quiet.

The witness and a friend drove around a dark rural bend and saw a tall mass on the roadside berm. As they passed within feet in a car with a sunroof, the witness looked up to see red eyes looking down into the car. They agreed they had seen it but kept quiet, and a next-morning check found only mashed grass.

While driving home at night with two relatives, the witness saw a large hairy figure on hands and knees chasing a small animal across the road in the headlights. As the car closed to about 15 to 20 feet, the figure stood upright to about six and a half to seven feet tall and walked quickly off the road in two steps. The group drove home quickly and a relative dismissed it as a large dog, which the witness rejected.

The witness and a companion drove to a picnic area in a forested area at dusk to relax after bowling. While outside the car the witness heard loud heavy strides coming up the hillside, followed by a low growl-like sound, prompting both to get in the car to leave. As they drove away something thumped against the car. Later under bright lights they found large handprints in the dust on the roof, side panel and door.

Two companions were pushing their bicycles up a steep driveway at night after visiting a neighbor. A large silhouette crossed the driveway entrance twice, then stopped at the top, looked at them and gave a short grunt. Frightened, they dropped their bikes and ran back to the house, later retrieving the bikes with the neighbor's help and riding home.

Early one morning in March 1982 the witness was feeding young cattle in an outdoor pen on a dairy farm. After hearing a grunt, the witness saw a tall dark bipedal figure stand up near a hay feeder and then walk away toward the woods and over a fence. The witness heard crunching footsteps and fence noise for several seconds, then later found no tracks after the frost melted.

The witness was working farm ground alone over two consecutive days in early spring. On the first day the witness saw a dark crouched figure thought to hold something, with two smaller dark figures back in the treeline near the river cut bank. On the next pass the following day the witness saw a very tall gray shaggy figure lumbering across the field toward the river. The witness later connected the location to local stories of the Butter Street Monster and never saw the figures again.

After about a minute, the witness turned and saw a furry figure about six feet away, visible from the waist up above a drop-off. Frozen in fear, the witness could not warn a passing group, then ran to the nearby car and has not returned to the park.

On a sandbar in the middle of the creek they found a single large, fresh human-like barefoot print and saw no other prints on the higher far bank. They inferred a very long stride and returned up the road without seeing the source.

A hunting party spent a fall day along a gasline, noticing a putrid odor and a large bare footprint in the morning. In the afternoon two members heard heavy movement circling in brush, and one moved closer and watched part of a tall dark figure step from behind a tree. The observer described a seven-foot-tall heavily built figure with long arms, no visible neck, and reddish eyes. The pair left the area and discussed the sighting on the drive home.
