Nighttime sighting remembered while driving southeast of Kalkaska
While driving home from Kalkaska after dark, the occupants of a vehicle noticed eye-shine in the headlights beside the road. The headlights revealed a small, very light-colored Bigfoot-like figure that had been sitting with its leg crossed on a log in a small clearing near a cedar swamp. Startled by the light, it stood up and walked casually into the woods and disappeared.
Witness and cousin see "hairy brown man-like creature" watching them
The witness and two young companions went to play on large grapevines near a cabin they were building in the woods. The witness looked up and saw a brown hairy human-like figure sitting against a fence post with legs bent and arms around legs. The witness screamed and the companions ran with the witness, with one companion also seeing the figure. On one backward glance the witness saw the figure standing upright.
Nighttime sighting by Air Force personnel near Seney National Wildlife Refuge
In winter 1977-1978 the witness and a companion were driving east on M-28 near Seney around 1:30 a.m. They saw a figure crossing the road ahead, backlit by headlights from beyond a knoll. The figure moved hunched over, then stood upright in the middle of the road showing broad manlike shoulders, arms, torso and a defined head before slouching and continuing across. They slowed near the spot and looked for tracks but spent little time searching due to cold and unease.
Odor in Michigan (1977)
The guest relayed his father's account of a night when the family was home while the grandfather was away hauling freight. After a foul odor and prolonged barking by the guard dog, a long loud vocalization was heard, the dog was apparently dragged from under the chicken-coop camper, and three household members separately reported red eyes staring through windows. By morning the dog was dead and mutilated, all chickens were gone with feathers and footprints scattered, and the coop hatch had been opened from underneath.

The witness, then a child spending unsupervised summer days in the woods behind home, stumbled upon a hair-covered figure crouched and apparently foraging. The figure stood upright on two legs, turned to stare at the witness with a human-like ancient face, then turned and walked toward the river while the witness fled home. The witness recalls numerous puzzling occurrences from 30-40 years ago on a family farm of about 100 acres with orchards and woods. These included trees reportedly moved to block trails, an elaborate woven arch structure, large human-like footprints with long strides, rocks and a branch thrown near the witness, loud clicking exchanges, and nighttime disturbances around the barn and house. No creature was reportedly seen clearly, and the interpretation as possible Sasquatch activity developed over later years.

The witness, then age eight, was walking east along railroad tracks with a nine-year-old companion picking up rocks when they smelled a strong distinct odor near a bridge over a river. While crossing the bridge the companion pointed over the south side, and the witness saw a dark-brown fur-covered ape-like figure with very massive shoulders crouching on the east bank about twenty feet below looking into the water. After watching for about five to seven seconds, the two children ran east to the companion's home.

The witness was walking with several other children down a two-track toward a river. Halfway up a hill he looked back across a gully and saw a tall, camouflaged figure moving left to right. He told the other kids they should leave and they ran back home.

After acquiring the property the witness's family spent summer weeks there and repeatedly heard loud knocking from woods behind a lake several hundred yards away. The knocks occurred often in summer, typically starting a couple hours before sunset and continuing after dark. In contrast, during winter camping trips the witness never heard such knocks.

The witness was fishing with five other boys near a house on Rolland Road when a breaking-log sound drew attention to a large dark hairy biped crouching in the woods east of the road. The boys ran to the house, and about an hour later they saw a lighter-colored hairy biped in the field west of the road while crashing sounds continued in the woods.

The witness was driving a rural road at night for work when he stopped to watch an upright creature on the roadside that appeared to be smelling and examining possible roadkill. He watched from his vehicle for about three minutes in his headlights as the creature stood up and walked toward him to within about ten feet. The creature then turned away, walked into the ditch and woods, and the witness drove away and avoided the road afterward.

In late July 1974 the witness walked with his parents and dog south along a trail toward thick woods. As they walked they heard loud cracks, pops and snaps from the treeline that seemed to parallel their movement, smelled rotten garbage, and the dog became fearful. Near the site of a previously found stick shelter they heard a tree snap and crash nearby, then turned back while snapping sounds seemed to follow them to the clearing.

Two people entering the woods to deer hunt at daybreak encountered a large creature about 150 feet ahead. The creature stood up, paced, shook a large bush, and screamed at them, causing both to flee in panic. They returned in full daylight hours later, estimated its height at about 8 feet from the bush, and found no prints or hair.

The witness was snowmobiling through a remote marshy area in February when they came upon a trail of barefoot human-like prints in deep crusted snow. They stopped to examine the trail and concluded the prints were not from a bear, snowshoes, or anything familiar. Frightened by the size and human appearance of the tracks, they left the area quickly.

When the witness was about seven, the family found very large footprints on a Lake Superior beach. While leaving through the woods toward the car they heard loud screeching and something large jumping nearby without being seen. They left quickly in the car, with the witness feeling the source was too big to be people.

About 30 yards ahead, a very tall dark-brown figure ran left to right at full speed with pumping arms. Two witnesses driving west on Highway 41 between Three Lakes and Tioga around sunset stopped to watch a tall white-furred biped standing on a hilltop south of the road. They described it as human-like but much larger, covered in long flowing hair, watching them from about 100 to 150 feet away for about 30 seconds. They then left unnerved, stating they had consumed only coffee.

The dogs began barking aggressively, and the witness saw a large hair-covered creature step from the woods and walk across the road about 200 feet away. The frightened children ran to a neighbor's house, and the witness's mother later suggested it was a Bigfoot, which the witness confirmed from a magazine photo weeks later.
