Homeless camper reports stalking by a bigfoot near Great Egg Harbor River
The witness was stealth camping alone in woods near town. Late at night a powerful foul odor filled the tent, followed by bipedal footsteps circling the tent, breathing and sniffing at the tarp. After the witness shouted, the visitor growled, walked away on two feet, and wood-on-wood knocks were heard as the odor faded. The witness left the area the next morning.
Possible wood knocks heard near Hibernia Bat Cave/Wildcat Ridge in Rockaway
A couple hiking near the Hibernia Bat Cave stopped to rest on a log and heard two wood knocks. They knocked back twice but heard no further response. They reported no construction, woodpecker, or traffic noise to explain the sounds, and no other hikers were nearby at the time.

The witness and a companion were hiking toward a lookout in the early afternoon when they heard distant wood knocks from the east. The witness knocked back while the companion made an audio recording, noting louder nearby knocks and fainter distant single knocks. Just before the exchange they also heard a sound like a tree or large limb crashing to the ground.

The witness camped overnight in a sleeping bag by a dying fire after hearing a metallic clink followed by tree knocks that seemed to answer each other from two directions. The witness then watched a dark silhouette showing only head and shoulders peek from behind a tree about 20 feet away. In the morning a tied food bag was gone except for an orange left on the ground.

The witness was camping overnight with a large scout group near a lake when a large pot of food disappeared from camp. Throughout the night the group heard bushes thrashing, repeated tree knocks, and loud long whistles coming from different sides of the camp. Counselors kept everyone by the fire until daylight, when another scout group helped them leave and police were called but reportedly found nothing.
