The witness followed a trail to a rock face at dusk, heard a single loud wood knock, then glimpsed a large bipedal figure moving between trees and heard crunching footsteps alongside him. Trapped between creek brush and woods, he caught its face leaning around a tree in his spotlight. He then crashed through thorns, crossed the creek, and reached the road.
