While deer hunting in the morning, the witness and his partner were stationed a few hundred yards apart with thick cover between them. Both men heard loud whoop-like and howl-like vocalizations along with heavy bipedal-sounding footsteps and branches breaking from the cover between them. The sounds lasted about a minute and unnerved both hunters. The witness did not enter the brush and later returned without further incident.

A couple camping on an isolated site finished dinner and sat by a campfire when the wife felt watched and fearful. The husband searched with lights and briefly saw movement in the trees about 30 feet away, including what looked like a large dark lower leg. In the middle of the night the camper was shaken several times, prompting one witness to go outside with a flashlight. They went inside, and the odor was gone when the witness returned outside an hour later.
