A young child was left alone in a cabin with the door open on a summer day while playing on the floor. A large hairy figure appeared in the doorway, casting a shadow and emitting a strong odor, and stared for several seconds. After a whistle was heard from outside, the figure turned and ran away. The child reported the encounter to relatives shortly afterward.

The witness's friend bought remote property and started building a cabin for outdoor use. From the start of visiting the property, rocks were seen flying out of the woods and strange knocks, vocalizations and whistles were heard. After moving to Alaska, the witness camped alone with her dog about ten miles down a maze of trails. She felt watched and exposed, then heard a constant person-like whistle that did not match birds or other animals she knew. She walked with the dog toward the sound to check for an injured person, but it went dead silent and she felt it was none of her business, so she returned to the truck and stayed the night.
