After giving vocal calls from a fishing dock after sundown, the witness got responses, then silence, then rocks splashing near the dock. He went to the parking lot with a machete and faced eyeshine about 70 feet away. He and the creature mimicked each other's movements and exchanged grunts for 20 to 30 minutes until a fishing bell rang and it walked away whistling softly.

The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand off a power line in a state wildlife management area on a December afternoon. After hearing heavy breathing and movement, the witness observed a large black hairy human-like figure first on all fours then sitting and standing. The figure vocalized in gibberish-like speech, screamed, grunted, approached to about 30 yards and remained for an extended period before tearing vegetation and moving off. While the witness fled toward a truck, movement paralleled the witness in the woods while vocalizations continued behind, suggesting a second individual, and the witness fired a shot in the air before driving away.

Two hikers on an advanced trail in the Holyoke Range heard whistles, whoops and other calls coming from both sides of the trail. They felt surrounded and followed for about a mile or roughly 45 minutes until reaching other hikers. About one to two months ago, the husband witness saw a tall, hair-covered biped walk past their trailer and behind it, disappearing in under ten seconds. The couple report feeling scared to go outside and believe more than one creature may be in the area near caves.
