The witness was camping alone in a tent trailer at dusk. Loud prolonged yells were heard first from the south and minutes later much louder repeated yells from the north, then again from the south. Frightened by the loudness, the witness lay still in the dark trailer with a firearm until logging trucks passed at dawn.

A group of five hiked an old closed ridge road around midnight under moonlight. After the leader produced knocks, responsive knocking came from timber about 50 feet away where a shadowy figure was seen, and the leader exchanged sounds with it. The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

The witness and her husband took two nieces to wade at a swimming hole under a railroad bridge. While the husband explored the wooded edge alone, he heard whisper-like voices and mirrored footsteps that left him uneasy. As he rejoined the group and recounted the experience, a large limb flew from the trees into the water, followed by a loud splash and grunt from the same area. The group apologized, left tobacco, and departed without investigating further because of the children.

During the night they heard loud calling sounds from across the river and later heard movement around the campsite, including grunt-like sounds beside the van. The witness was visiting a friend's house near Colton when strange birdlike noises were heard from the treeline overnight. Five other people joined the witness to listen and agreed the sounds were unfamiliar, and shining a light toward the closest sounds made them stop temporarily. The noises continued until shortly before dawn. In the morning, possible unfamiliar tracks and a trail of pushed-down grass with long strides were found in a field behind a stream.

The witness was walking alone on an old road at the edge of a meadow in the evening when a very loud, long-lasting bellowing-like sound came from woods across the meadow. The witness kept watching while cutting the walk short and returning to the vehicle. No other people, vehicles, or camps were seen in the area when leaving.

At night while using a computer at home, the witness heard odd sounds and saw a bigfoot looking in through the back window. The witness greeted it, and it turned away and walked toward the field behind the house. The witness later found a large footprint with apparent dermal ridges on the bank behind the house and reported talk-like voices that could not be imitated.

The witness and their then-husband were hiking mid-trail in dense forest when they heard a loud, deep repetitive call from the hillside above. The sound started faintly to their left, grew louder as it passed above them, then faded, moving faster than a person could travel. They could see nothing through the dense forest.

A family hiking uphill toward a large tree smelled a strong pungent odor and heard a repeated whoa-like sound that grew louder. The adult who stepped off the trail to watch saw a very tall, dark-haired upright figure move between trees and look toward the family. The family continued uphill without further sound or sighting and later reported the encounter to park staff.

Five years after his 1993 sighting, the guest returned for an eight-day expedition and was alone on a hillside calibrating seismic sensors above base camp. A hail cell forced him into nearby old-growth trees, where after urinating he heard an extremely loud roar ending in a guttural bark from about 100 feet away in dense brush. He remained frozen for two minutes, believing the vocalization was a warning to leave.

The group later returned to the site and found unusual scat.

The witness was archery hunting on a trail at dusk after separating from a companion to go different directions. After hearing an unfamiliar deep yelping sound and then loud wood-splintering, the witness saw a head-and-shoulders shape with no visible neck beyond a log. When the shape swiveled slightly, the witness backed away and returned quickly to the vehicle, visibly frightened.

The witness was camping with companions on a multi-day hike and looked out of a tent early in the morning to see two hair-covered figures in vegetation about seventy feet away. The larger figure reached toward branches while the smaller handled a stick, then the larger vocalized, took the smaller's hand, and both left behind trees. The companions did not see the figures, and the witness later mentioned the sighting to a ranger while leaving the area.
