The witness was deer hunting in the morning and waiting against a tree when a nearby deer spooked. He then heard heavy breathing and saw a tall hair-covered upright creature standing a few feet behind him. He fled leaving his gun, then returned with two companions to find large three-toed tracks leading to a creek.

As a child camping with family, the witness woke at night and stayed up to watch raccoons. Two large hair-covered creatures waded across a creek into the camp, growling and grunting while going through items left out. The frightened witness hid and remained still until they left the way they came, after which the raccoons returned.

On a later May trip to the same research area the party twice heard wailing like a one-month-old colicky baby, at midnight and about three in the morning. No other voices or explanation were heard on parabolic equipment. The sound seemed to move through trees from one direction to behind them within minutes.

A figure stood up very close with its arms raised and the uncle fired a carbine, believing he hit it under the arms. The creature made a loud noise and fled, leaving fatty bloody material but no blood trail, only footprints and broken vegetation.

While still in a cast the witness returned to the field edge with a friend and sat by the truck. The countryside went silent, which the witness took as a sign it was near. A gibberish sound rose into a scream, and the friend decided to leave.

The daughter and mother walked to the grandparents' house down the hill and started back uphill with cats. Birds in a nearby tree went loud then bolted, cats ran, then an extremely loud lion-like roar rattled their chests and froze them. They walked slowly to a gate then ran under a floodlight into the house and pleaded for the father to come home.

On Friday night the group heard vocals from multiple directions. After dropping a 4x4 board to mimic knocks, the surrounding area erupted in sound. Walking up the trail, they heard something step out and shake a large tree very close and heard bipedal footsteps hit the mud, then backed out.

On the first night out at a pond area, the group heard vocalizations that seemed to approach rapidly from a distance. They also heard a crisp tree knock and an owl sound that shifted into monkey-like calls. Later around the campfire they heard constant vocals for hours and something threw a large log toward camp.

The witness walked alone to his deer stand before dawn on opening day on his Kentucky property. About 20 feet into the woods he heard a grunt followed by a powerful roar that vibrated through him and froze him, then a second similar call nearby, indicating two animals. He stood motionless for several minutes, then eased away and waited in his stand until daylight. Days later he glimpsed a large gray head at the woods edge and later found a buck with a shattered leg and torn hip, and the next summer heard a frenzied coyote chorus end in sudden silence.

A few years after the property sightings, the witness camped alone off-trail on the Appalachian Trail. Around 2 a.m. something moved around the tent making odd pig-like or horse-like sounds, which was recorded. In the morning a food bag hung 15 feet up between trees was gone with the knot untied rather than broken.

Early in the morning before hunting, the witness and a companion heard loud chimp-like calls behind them and then again to the side sounding like multiple animals. On another night with night vision, they saw three pairs of eyes peeking over a woodpile.

During a bonfire with several visitors, a carved apple was thrown into the woods. About twenty minutes later dirt seemed thrown over the group from behind, distressed cat-like cries were heard, and the same apple rolled out between a visitor's feet.

At the current wooded home, the witness hears a cork-popping sound and later a wailing sound followed by branches scraping the barn. The dog fled back to the deck. In daylight large tracks about 18 inches were found leading from the road by the mailbox around the property to the barn.

While tent camping with family, the witness knocked a stick on a tree and got a reply, yelled and got a loud yelled reply through the valley. That night deer and birds vanished, and a felt growl between tents woke the witness and wife with a putrid smell, but a flashlight search found nothing.

On Halloween night the friend, the witness and the friend's son went into Rock Creek Canyon playing calls. They heard creatures trailing on both sides, humming growling, a large boulder splash in the creek, saw eyeshine of a very tall figure, then found a mature deer with a leg twisted and left quickly.

The driver broke down on a rainy highway and was working in the back of a tall cargo van. A snorting sound came from outside, and a large hairy face appeared inches away in the open door. The creature vibrated the van with a loud growl, reacted to a pistol, then left. Lightning revealed two more figures nearby, and the driver fired and fled to town.
