The witness was driving at night on a road through a swamp area when headlights revealed a large hairy biped standing in the road. As the witness braked and approached, the figure appeared on the roadside about 10 feet from its original position without being seen to move, then vanished toward the swamp. The witness stopped within about 20 feet and described the figure as about 7-8 feet tall with dark hair tipped with silver-grey and a deep chest.

The witness's wife also saw the figure and described it as orangutan-like but more upright. The witness was riding as a passenger with a relative driving home when they first noticed a large crouched figure by the roadside. After turning around and losing sight of it, they saw a tall, dark reddish-brown shaggy upright figure cross the road ahead of them in two steps. The figure moved quickly, did not look at the cars, and disappeared into roadside bushes, after which the witnesses left the area.

On the afternoon of August 11, 2007, the witness was resting near the Pacific Crest Trail in the southern high Sierras when he noticed two upright, dark-furred figures about 200 yards away near a deep canyon. He watched for about 10 minutes as they moved around close together, apparently looking at the ground and unaware of him. After he made a coyote call, both figures quickly left his view down into the canyon.

At noon on a clear day, two men standing on high ground overlooking a pond watched a tall, black hair-covered biped walk through pines behind the pond for about 100 feet. They estimated its height at 8-9 feet using a 4-foot fence for scale and said it walked casually without noticing them. When it should have entered an open clearing it was gone, and a search of the area found no trace.

The witness and his wife were driving at night when their headlights caught a hair-covered humanlike figure standing on the left side of the road about 25-30 feet away. It faced them briefly, then ran bipedally a few steps and scrambled on all fours up an embankment behind it. When they looked back after passing, it was gone.
